The Pasterzenkees, longest glacier in the eastern Alps, as seen from Franz-Josefs-Höhe (2369 m), Großglockner-Hochalpenstraße, Nationalpark Hohe Tauern, Austria.

The Pasterze glacier is 10 km long by 300 m deep and it has a surface area of 20 sq. km. In recent years it has receeded over 50 m as shown by year markers painted in its rock bed.
